Depression, anxiety, and loss of purpose are on the rise in today’s world as young adults face the expectation that they be responsible for themselves. Fear and crises of confidence can hinder them and keep them from moving forward in their lives when they don’t know how to set goals, overcome obstacles, or leave behind high school behaviors. The thought of becoming a fully-functioning adult can be paralyzing.
Emerging Adults
New Legends staff are professional educators who have worked in both public and private education with students of all ages. Our unique shared skill set allows for a deepened understanding of the developmental issues faced by students life stage, including the internal and personal struggles faced as external demands increase. Underdeveloped problem-solving, goal-setting, and organizational skills combined with limited self-awareness, emotional management, and decision-making abilities often result in roadblocks for people of any age, but particularly young adults.
Resiliency and Responsibility-Building are our specialties. We work with this group by acknowledging their fears, honoring where they are in their lives, and assisting them in building the confidence the need to explore their strengths, manage their feelings, and stake claim to their lives. Our advanced training in working with substance abuse issues and therapeutic recreation has equipped us to assist these youth in making better decisions as they gain self-understanding and explore their potential.
